Gravel Weekend 2024

What's Gravel Weekend?

Weekend-long gravel festival in Latvia that’s included in the Gravel Earth Series in 2024! The place to be if you like everything about gravel cycling. We will start with social rides to see the roads and make new friends. Then we will have a short and fun prologue next to the race centre. We will fuel up with lots of pasta to be ready in the morning to tackle the 135km or 65km routes. Not ready for racing? Ride your tempo or take part in an easy ride with some game elements!

Tukums region is a gravel cycling capital of Latvia. Close to the capital city Riga (65km by car or train) and only 16km away from the beautiful white sand beaches. We took the best out of the gravel road network. Rolling terrain with fast roads if the weather won’t make any surprises. Be ready for high speeds and some technical segments.
Choose your distance regarding your abilities but don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. Route is made to be hard for those who want to go fast but pretty easy for those, who want to enjoy.
Keep in mind that the traffic won’t be closed, so ride on the right side of the road and always keep in mind that there can be a vehicle around the corner.

Prologue will be 2.5km long. 60% gravel, 40% tarmac with one 100m long but steep climb.

135km stage has around 1300m of elevation gain. No big climbs but up and down all the way. Only 10% of tarmac. All the rest – gravel and forest roads.

66km stage has around 800m of elevation. It copies the 135km route just cuts off the farthest loop. Only 10% of tarmac. All the rest – gravel and forest roads.

Scavenger Hunt Ride

Racing isn’t yours? Go for a Scavenger Hunt! Get as many points as possible. Time won’t change your result,  you can go on your rhythm. The only limitation is the finishing time. You need to be back at the race centre by 6pm.

You will have two options – long and short. Long is made for those who like to spend all day in the saddle. Short is made for families with kids.
You will plan your route by yourself to get as many points as possible.

Race Centre

The race centre is located in Tukums City Park (Google Maps). Even if it’s still a city, you will feel like in a little forest. Here you will find the registration and info tent, food court, remote bike shop, and children’s playground. And also the party will happen here.

Next to the park is a Race BMX track and pump track where some action will happen all day long. Brave enough to try it out? Go on and show your skills!

The Gravel Weekend was the highlight of my 2023 racing season. The organisation was perfect, and the track was interesting and dynamic, requiring not only the ability to drive fast but also technical skills

Beautiful event. From organisation to choice of route. The Track was very nicely done and enjoyable. Easy enough to get to the finish, but to win the race you need to be very strong. Thanks a lot for the event and see you next year!
